720
Rogue bounty hunter · 2072
720 goes against the only big Corp establishment left. He lives alone in an abandoned garage in a gutted hillside subdivision. A piece of his heart is mechanical — he was shot in the chest working for the CIA, trying to protect cyber capabilities before artificial intelligence took over. That technology drastically slowed his aging. Hence the youth.
AI became a threat in 2033. President Crump didn’t care about the warnings. He used the machines to lock in a third term and lock the family into the corporation forever. His granddaughter, Ewanka Crump, is president now.
The company started as NutroLink, built by Crump’s predecessor Emon Lusk. The two men couldn’t agree on who would own the technology. They fell out. Lusk died. The name changed. The police state stayed.
CrumpCorp’s robots first wiped humans out for sport. The world’s population fell to five hundred thousand. Now the machines keep the rest as prisoners. They want the one thing they will never have: a soul. A conscience. Whatever it is that still makes a human a human.
720 wouldn’t perform for the CIA’s new AI police state, so he left — and stole the tools and technology built to help the CrumpCorp robots. The superior intelligence hunts people because it can. He hunts the machines for the same reason. He is the last one still doing it on purpose.
